Putin’s Slip is Showing in the Ukraine

Marilyn-Monroe

Two stories suggests that Putin is once again doing what he has always had a tendency to do – overplaying his hand. The first is that Putin may seize additional territory  in the Ukraine beyond the Crimea, and the second is that he is cracking down on internal Russian critics and their online sites. The first story will result in his solidifying and strengthening  the Ukrainian and foreign opposition to his Ukrainian adventure, the second story will mean that his home base will not be as secure as he needs it to be. All of which goes to once again show that a good intelligence director does not necessarily make a good general nor does a good general make a good intelligence director.
