A Chekist Orphan Tale Gone Terribly Wrong

Traditionally in Chekist story telling, Felix and his Cheka were the protectors, the guardians, the surrogate parents for the orphans of Russia. Putin’s 21st century version of the Chekist orphan tale is apparently less convincing.



Punishing children, especially those in need of specialized medical treatment, to protest the American refusal to deal with corrupt Russian officials involved in the Magnitsky affair does seem counter-productive.
