Are the Boyars Now Calling the Shots in Moscow?

As mentioned in the first post on this blog Putin’s problems among his own kind the Chekists may soon undermine his rule in Russia. The Moscow Times is now reporting some signs that Chekist Solidarność may be showing signs of fraying. If the Chekists start to question whether Putin is more a liability than an asset to maintaining the Chekist state, don’t expect sentimentality to get Putin anything more than a cell with Khodorovsky’s name scratched on a wall. If on the other hand, they rally round Putin the Punisher, the Chekists themselves may set off a Time of Troubles not only in Moscow but around the world.

Too many palaces and expensive watches have been known to ruin a good ruler’s judgement.
